Yes Its Doable …….No Problem. ! Sierra Nevada is circa 2hrs 30 minutes away from Los Arqueros and a day trip is certainly very doable.
Head towards Malaga and follow the signs…. the roads are very fast to Granada then you just head up the hill and your there.
Ski Hire is easy to do and the lift passes are available in the resort centre. So if your up for an early start GO SKIING
